Grunewald Hunting Lodge
To the info page of the venue
Grunewald Hunting Lodge, surrounded by forests and lakes, has a long tradition as a place of courtly hunting since 1542. Elector Joachim II of Brandenburg had the picturesque Renaissance palace built as a hunting residence, while Frederick I undertook baroque extensions at the beginning of the 18th century. The modernizations under Wilhelm II between 1901 and 1909 were particularly influential. The palace has served as a museum since 1932. The famous Cranach paintings, including almost 30 works by the painter Lucas Cranach the Elder and his son, are part of the permanent exhibition and offer a fascinating insight into the time of the Reformation. Another exhibition is dedicated to courtly hunting in art, while the gallery of rulers with portraits of the Hohenzollerns can be seen on the upper floor.

If the number of participants exceeds the maximum limit for the program, the group will be divided. Each subgroup will be allocated a specific entry time, and the group price will be calculated accordingly per subgroup. For some palaces, an additional fee is offered for the second entry time slot, up to a certain number of persons. This fee cannot be booked separately.
There is no minimum number of participants for a group booking. Programs can be offered in various languages, including personal tours in German and English, as well as the use of audio guides and tours in the SANSSOUCI app with additional language versions. Further information about the tours and language versions can be found in the current group price list.
If groups are accompanied by a licensed tour guide from the SPSG, a 10% discount is granted on the group package price. This discount does not apply to group bookings with an audio guide. Special openings for groups are possible upon request outside the regular opening hours of the palaces. The price for a special opening consists of the group price, a special opening fee, and, if applicable, additional personnel costs.
All information is subject to availability and changes. Group prices are only valid in conjunction with the General Terms and Conditions for Groups of the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg. All prices mentioned are exempt from VAT according to § 4 No. 20a UStG.
