Schönhausen House
To the info page of the venue
Schönhausen House occupies a special place in Berlin's monumental landscape. The undestroyed baroque House was an important venue for German history and politics for centuries. In the 18th century, Queen Elisabeth Christine, wife of Frederick the Great, cultivated an elegant court life here. Later, in the young GDR, Schönhausen became the center of the Cold War. Once again, it played a historic role as the venue for the "Two Plus Four Talks" on German reunification.
The exhibition in the House offers a fascinating insight into this eventful history and guides groups through three centuries of German history. Particularly worth seeing are the magnificent baroque rooms, such as the restored Garden Hall and the impressive staircase, as well as the faithfully furnished rooms from the GDR era. An unforgettable place that brings the historical significance and diversity of Germany's past to life.
