Oranienburg Palace

Around 1700, Oranienburg Palace was considered the most beautiful palace in the Prussian monarchy. At the request of Louise Henriette, the first wife of the Great Elector, a Dutch-style palace was built as her country residence from 1651. Her son, Frederick I, the first Prussian king, had the palace rebuilt and lavishly furnished.
Today, the Oranienburg Palace Museum presents a fascinating collection, including the impressive étagères in the porcelain chamber with Chinese porcelain from the 18th century. Particularly noteworthy are the ivory seating furniture from Brazil and the tapestries from Brussels and Berlin depicting the glorious deeds of the Great Elector. Other highlights include the collection of paintings with works by Anthonis van Dyck and the silver vault with its magnificent royal silver.
A must for groups interested in the magnificent history and art of the Prussian nobility!
