At the western end of the main avenue of Sanssouci Park stands an imposing palace building, recognizable from afar by its high tambour dome: the New Palace.
The large complex was clearly intended for representation, in stark contrast to the intimate and rather modest Sanssouci Palace. Inside, visitors can expect magnificent banquet halls and grand galleries. Here, exquisite works of art and craftsmanship from the 18th century can be experienced in their original context.
The New Palace is the last palace that Frederick the Great had built in his park. It was a demonstration of the unbroken power of the Prussian state after the years of deprivation during the Seven Years' War from 1756 to 1763.
The restored lower princely quarters with the Tressenzimmer, concert room, and Oval Cabinet feature one of the most precious interiors in Europe. The Grotto Hall has also been reintegrated into the tour of the palace following extensive renovation work. The mysterious glitter and sparkle with which Frederick the Great sought to impress his visitors can now be experienced once again.
Later, Wilhelm II, the last German emperor, used the New Palace as his family's favorite residence.

If the number of participants exceeds the maximum limit for the program, the group will be divided. Special openings for groups are possible upon request outside the regular opening hours of the palaces. The price for a special opening consists of the group price, a special opening fee, and, if applicable, additional personnel costs.
All information is subject to availability and changes. Group prices are only valid in conjunction with the General Terms and Conditions for Groups of the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg. All prices mentioned are exempt from VAT according to § 4 No. 20a UStG.
