Cecilienhof Palace | Prince's Courtyard
The Prince’s Courtyard and the Prince’s Garden are located on the side of the palace facing the lake. It can be entered through an expansive triple-arched arcade hall, and is framed by Cecilienhof Palace’s picturesque brick and half-timbered architecture. Elaborately designed plantings with radiantly colorful sunflowers and imaginatively pruned dwarf yews give it the air of a romantic oasis. The bronze sculpture of Narcissus, sitting by the edge of the fountain basin in the middle of the courtyard, admiring his reflection longingly, is especially delightful. Surrounded by a World Heritage Site, the Prince’s Courtyard is nevertheless a sequestered and contemplative setting, highly recommended as an unusual and exclusive venue for intimate receptions.
