The royal palaces and gardens of the Brandenburg March each represent the spirit of their time in many different ways.

The Rheinsberg palace and garden played a significant role for two of the most prominent members of the Hohenzollern dynasty: it was there that as crown prince Frederick the Great spent his happiest childhood days and it was also later where Frederick's younger brother, Prince Heinrich established a court of muses which ranked among the most splendid in Europe.

Castle Königs Wusterhausen was the summer residence of the "Soldier King", Friedrich Wilhelm I. It was here that he spent his time hunting. It was also the location of his famous "tobacco round".

The Caputh and Oranienburg Palaces are testaments to the age of the Great Elector Friedrich Wilhelm.The relationship between the Hohenzollern dynasty and the Netherlands is particularly evident in the Oraneinburg palace.

Finally, the atmosphere of a 19th century royal country home is brought back to life at Paretz Palace.
